Maybe she's getting stalked or something and is afraid the stalker will try to contact her through others on the website.
Or maybe she's in witness protection. If that was the case though, I think that the FBI could override whatever password protectors are on the site and just get her name off of it.
I don't buy the "professional reasons" at all unless she's working for Fred Phelps or something and has to remove any association with OMG TEH GAY PEOPLE.
