All the non-NPC/NPHC sororities that I know of personally do this.

I believe they give the Greek Life a list of new members, but the new members aren't allowed to tell anyone they are pledging.

I know when I tried to pledge ABC, we couldn't even tell our friends who went through rush with us. We were told to tell them we dropped. When we did fundraisers (as pledges) we had to make up a fake organization.

Of course this varies from organization, and in no way am I saying this is what sylviasushi's organization does.
