I just think that while they're playing to a bunch of the stereotypes they aren't doing two of the simplist things possible to make his character authentic.

I dunno, I'd say Dale is pretty polite... and not all southerners have thick southern accents, as evidenced by the girl who plays Frannie being from the Carolinas and not speaking with one... I myself was born in the south and raised all over before returning to South. I say y'all but I wouldn't say I have a strong Southern accent.
