It's probably been asked before, but how many of you are actively involved with your GLO as an alum?
I'm involved.
Are you involved in the local, regional or (inter)national level?
I'm involved on a local and National basis. Nationally, I'm a Panhellenic Coordinator for 24 of our chapters. Locally, I'm the alumnae chapter correspondant for our National magazine. I've also served as a Chapter Advisor and the Alumnae chapter VP.
What do you do, specifically?
I work with 24 chapters with any Panhellenic issues: everything from extension, recruitment rules & infractions, Campus Total Reviews, etc. Basically anything dealing with NPC issues, our chapter delegates would contact me.
Why did you choose this area of involvement?
I always enjoyed Panhellenic and wanted to learn more about the NPC. I also wanted to give back to Sigma as I've received so much from my membership. You learn more about yourself and what you're capable of doing when you volunteer in some capacity.
Are you also a dues paying alumni member of your GLO? If so, does that mean you pay dues only to your local alumni chapter or you pay separate local and international alumni dues to be considered an active alumna? If you are not a dues paying alumni member, why not?
I pay local dues. I've paid my lifetime dues so I no longer have to pay National dues.
I know that AOP, DDD, DC and SC have Life Loyal programs and I'm sure there are more. If your GLO has a "Life Loyal" type program, are you a member? If not, why not?
Yes, we have a Lifetime Membership program and I am a member. We also have a GOLD program for young alumnae to support our Foundation. I am a GOLD member as well.
