Here's a question - what if you are a switcher? Like, when a playoff basketball game is on during one of my shows, I watch the show and switch to the bball game during commercials so my hubby can get updates while he does the dishes (jealous, ladies?! ). We have 2 TVs so normally he'd watch on the other, but not when he's on Dish Duty!
I think you write down if you watch something for at least 15 minutes, so a few switches here & there would not be recorded.
