I really hope that this sort of teaches her a lesson. While she didn't hurt anyone, DUI is very dangerous and can endanger so many people. When I was in high school, I had a close friend who had an entire family (aunt, uncle, 3 cousins) that got killed by a drunk driver. The driver walked away with a few scratches.

Holy shit that's horrible! There was a family from one of the Detroit suburbs who had almost the same thing happen. The wife and two sons were killed when a drunk drive (who was also a DOCTOR) slammed into the back of their car. If you could have seen what that car looked like afterward... it made you sick to your stomach. The poor husband had his family wiped out but an irresponsible jackass. I don't remember what his blood alcohol level is, but I remember it being so high that he should have died from alcohol poisoning. The driver spent a few weeks in the hospital (very rare with drunk drivers) and is now in prison and won't be up for parole till I believe 2020. Two years later the husband just tries to stay as busy as possible but there are still things he can't do.
I wish more people would read the stories of surviving family and friends and learn a lesson or two. It breaks my heart everytime I hear about a life taken away by something so stupid and selfish.
