I agree about John being the least favorite on the show. His overdramatic facial expressions are so annoying. But you got me curious as to whether he's being written off, so I searched and here's what I found regarding who's staying and who's going:

So, I didn't see any indication that John is leaving or dying. But apparently Bonnie is supposed to leave sometime in March (yay!). Also, Mimi won't be around much longer either. And apparently, we've seen the last of Tek and Lexie, who have both been "let go" and their last air date was yesterday.
