Budget is very important. I would suggest first finding out if your sorority wants dinner served at the formal or not. And if the location you choose lets you decorate the walls. We had that problem for our spring formal. It was a Cinderella Fairytale.
But our fall semi-formal is a night in Vegas.
You can save a lot of money by making your own decorations too instead of buying them. Thats what we are doing for the semi-formal.
