That's an overgeneralization.

People are disrespectful to other people, regardless of any community affiliations. And just because two people share membership in the same organization, or belong to similiar organizations, does not automatically entitle or bind them to unyielding love and respect for one another. That's an idividual decision to make. Being professional is not necessarily the same as being friendly or kind. And although any Creed can request that members treat one another and non-members as friends, there is no way, outside of common custom, to measure "being a good friend" or being respectful.

And given you refer mainly to collegiate greeks, disrespect perceived from one group to another group in a centralized location can be attributed to maturity. Competitiveness, insecurity, the campus culture and a general sense of "this is a brilliant idea even though I haven't thought ahead to the consequences!" are a few ways that disrespect can show its face from group to group on one campus.
