It seems really common that when something is deleted, the deletees start pointing fingers and saying the mods play favorites or don't apply uniform standards. I would like to see evidence to back up this claim.

I totally agree that it is common to point fingers. I think the point that I was making is that I personally didn't find the threads in question offensive. I also didn't find other threads offensive that seem to be in the same category of "offensiveness"...if that makes sense.
But since you asked, one (and I'm stressing that this is only ONE, not all) example that I can think of that happened recently are the responses to many new people in the rush forum. It seems to me that using profanities when people are asking questions about rush could be perceived as offensive to some. Personally I didn't report the members who seemed to be constantly making these types of posts, I just stated my opinion and stopped reading them.
ETA: the problem, in my mind, is that it seems from an outside perspective that random people can just report things because it annoys them and a thread (evidently) will get deleted if the poster isn't on friendly terms with the mod in that forum. I'm not trying to be argumentative at all, just telling you how I see it.
