My dad was engaged to another woman when he met my mom. I'm not sure how they met -- they were both in college together after he came back from the Korean War.
They started dating, and he got the engagement ring back from the other woman and gave it to my mom! It's kinda' shocking when you learn your dad was a player.
They've been married for 47 years.
