I'd suggest again that, if you haven't, you should read the other thread.
The "family members" who are filing the suit apparantely didn't have custody of the young woman. She had been placed with a foster family. What does that make the mother and aunt look like?
I will refrain from comment on that.
As for the fraternity chapter, there's every chance they could be held accountable since the party was a fraternity function and held at their house -- even though they provided a sober driver, etc.
Chapters have been found liable for less.
