This is for everyone to read
Hello everyone. I am writing this little note to tell everyone about Sigma Alpha. Not everyone knows who or what we are, but we are an Agricultural Sorority, but please, don't get any stereotypes in your head of us being "cow-girls" or something like that. Depending upon where we are, as in what University, we are either social/professional or just professional. We have Ag AND non-Ag majors, girls who are just looking for a way to meet new friends and have fun. Those chapters who decide to be social have exchanges, grubs, formals, sisterhood events, and crushes, etc. We are smaller than other sororites, and this helps us strengthen the bond of sisterhood and friendships between us. Believe me guys, we have so much fun together doing community services, holding fund raisers, and getting prepared for what is after college. Let me know what you think of us from just what I have said. I would love to have some feed back. Good luck to every sorority and fraternity, whether you are NPC, NPHC, IFC, etc....Because I know that before I rushed for Sigma Alpha, I was hesitant because of the "sorority girl" criticism, but I have realized that all sororites and fraternities have their own unique quality. I respect everyone for that.

YOU ROCK!!!!
Without you, Sigma Alpha at LSU wouldn't be the same.
For those of you who don't know much about us...we're a small yet close-knit sorority. I can attest that I know WAYYYYYYYYYYY too much about my fellow sisters. LOL.
The best part about our sorority is that we are the only professional and social sorority in the country. Being a part of this organization has done wonders for me so far and I have only been in college for 4 semesters. I am able to network with people already in my chosen career. And trust me, I'm going to need all the help I can get because I am going into a career dominated by men.
OK...I think I'm done. I just wanted everyone out there to know how awesome Sigma Alpha is and how much of a privilege it is to be a member.
HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!!!!!

Hey guys,
I attend LSU and happen to have a major in the college of Argi. I know that you all are out there, but a lot of people might who go here might not. The thing is we(the LSU community) never hear any news you. What type of community service projects do you participate in? Have you done any projects with other greeks here?
I really couldn't tell you my opinion about you all because I haven't seen any of you to form on. Most of the girls in my major are in sororities like Tri-Delt and so. So if you all are in some of my classes I would never know.
Please take what I said with a grain of salt. I'm not trying to be mean or anything. Feel free to email me if you need more explaination concerning this post.

Hello prospectiverushee....I think that was what your name was..please forgive me if I misspelled it. Anyhow, I don't take what you said as an insult in anyway. We NEED to know what we need to do to get girls to rush.
First question, what year are you? And what is your major? Leave me your email adress so that we can talk . Thanks. mgomez1@lsu.edu

BABELSUSA, you're just all over the place, representing so well for Sigma Alpha, and what a great name (what does it stand for?)!!
Most of what I know about your sisterhood is from greekchat.com, beleive it or not...I met BFulton here when I started chatting here a while ago. I knew there were other sororities like mine, with emphasis on professions as well as social aspects, though this was the first time I'd heard of one for women interested in agriculture and related fields.
Best wishes to you and your sisters!

We have that sorority hear at the University of Arkansas, and (I'm not trying to be mean), they are just a bunch of over-weight girls (sorry).

We don't have Sigma Alpha here but we have something very similiar... Ceres. It sounds almost identical to SA> didn't know if they were related. I know Ceres was founded by Farmhouse, though.

OK. You guys thanks for all of the support. I was so happy yesterday , that I wanted to let everyone know about Sigma Alpha. And about the "heavy girl" situation..why judge a sorority by the way it looks? Isnt it the sisterhood that makes it worth all the time? We dont judge our girls by the shape of their bodies, or anything like that. I am not saying that any other sorority does b/c I know very little of how formal rush goes. And "not to be mean" but that is absolutely disrespectful to girls period....because while we think other girls out there are supporting the " dont have to have the typical body" thing, atleast we know that they joined one of the awesome sororities. I am sorry for sounding so "b***hy...but that was just a rude thing to say whether you were just trying to be honest or not.

Dear Chi_Omega2000 Chick-
"To live constantly above snobbery of word or deed"
"To speak kindly, to act sincerely, to choose thoughtfully that course which occassion and conscience demand"
Please remember the Symphony. I am not trying to be mean either but after some of your posts- I am not understanding where you are coming from.
BABELSUSA- I am so happy you have found such a tight sisterhood with Sigma Alpha - I wish you all much success!

Hey Hootie!
I'm one of BABELSUSA's sorority sisters so I can answer your question. Yes we do have a chapter in Nebraska. It is at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. We are a fairly new sorority so we're constantly adding new chapters!!!!
Hope you have a great day!!!!!

Bye the way, I am not exactly sure what "Ceres" is. I have never heard of it. But it sounds cool. I like the name. So...yea...thats all. I know I have said this so many times, but thanks everyone.

Sigma Alpha is at my university, and a couple of the girls are in my service soror. They are the absolute best! We worked with them and a fraternity for Homecoming and won first place in the float competition. We made a great team!
