I'm going to be doing the "stand in line and wait" thing next Tuesday. No choices - my state doesn't have early voting or no-excuse absentee voting (the ability to vote by absentee ballot even if you could have made it to the polls). I think I'd better bring a good book!
Edit: I just hope that what happened last November in my town doesn't happen again. The voting machines were misconfigured and had to be taken out of service. Some districts got paper ballots, but my district was "lucky" enough to get one of the backup voting machines (properly configured). You can't use paper ballots if there's a machine available, so everyone had to wait on line to vote using this one machine. We had a huge turnout because of a hot referendum, so I wound up waiting for TWO HOURS. A lot of people saw the long line and decided not to bother voting.

early voted...for kerry
what is more exciting for me is many of my seniors are coming in grinning that they voted...for the first time.
that is too cool. i tell them i don't care who they voted for, the important thing is that they voted.

If so, good move. I just sent in my Florida absentee ballot.

My boyfriend recently moved to Georgia but voted via absentee ballot in Florida so that his Kerry vote would actually count!

No. Grew up in Ohio but since have lived in Maryland, Wisconsin, Michigan and Colorado for the past nearly 25 years.
Guess we've hit a couple of the "battleground" states.

That's pretty much how I felt about New York.
Also, I wanted to vote in my local elections. There were some family friends running, and I wanted to show my support.

2 more for W
Mom and I voted after lunch last week. We waited in line for about 20 mins. It was my first time voting, so I was excited. My dad's feelings about voting is like christmas. He WILL NOT early vote, he likes all the "drama" and "excitement in the air" on election day, just like he won't go shopping for christmas gifts until christmas eve..... MEN...
Hey, atleast he is voting!!!
Im proud of everyone voting, expecially new voters!

Seriously, you guys have to wait in line?
I'm really shocked by that. The longest line I've ever waited on was 10 minutes.
Why does it take so long? Do you have paper ballots?
