Nothing today, either. I REALLY want to know! I wish they would email us already and let us know!

They'll probably wind up emailing you all in the middle of the night, so the likelihood of you being able to post the news tonight is probably not that great....

It's okay, we're all just excited about expansion at another university!

putting aside the fact that i would really like to know who yall chose, Elon picked a pretty bad time to do these presentations. i mean school is about out for yall and the dean went away for a week.

I thought the exact same thing. Why put such an important decision on peoples' shoulders when they have finals to take and for the admin, all the end of year stuff to finish?

I go to Elon too and am dying to know just like the rest of y'all! It really was bad timing - they shouldn't have waited so late in the year to do it. But whatever. I am definitely checking my email all the time waiting to hear!

I definitely agree. All they can do now is use it as a learning experience I guess. Next time they expand they might want to do it a little earlier in the semester.

Yeah, it was a pretty bad time. We all thought it would be voted on and decided before exams even started. Now I'm wondering if we'll hear before graduation

^ hahahahahah i completely agree. I bet more collegiates from the other sororities (from the sororities presenting and the Elon chapters) would have been able to make it out to the presentation if it wasn't so late in the year

while we're waiting...

Xylochick216, do you know what kind of expansion this will be?

I'm not sure how expansions go, but will the new org start from the group up during regular formal recruitment? Or will they have a selection process after regular formal recruitment is over?

At NCSU, our expansion brings the sorority and representatives for it participate one night during formal rush. For us, its "philanthrophy night" where you do philanthropy stuff for 15 minutes with each chapter and talk to the girls. The girls are told that a new group will be taking applications after formal rush is over and that they can have the option of "applying" if they do not sign a bid.

The girls do a "formal rush" like process for the chapter. DG at NCSU interviewed certain girls (I think the cut was GPA only) and invited them to pref.

I do not know if Elon will do the same thing, but they might do something similar.

since Elon does formal recruitment in February, they had said at the Elon presentation that they would start building a chapter in the fall so that there's a group a girls ready to go for formal recruitment in the spring. i'm sure that the other sororities (ADPi and Tri-Delt) had figured to do this well
