Obviously Hawai`i is no SEC, but their bench clearing brawls with Cincinnati in 2002 (which almost took Tim and his knee out!) and Houston in 2003 made SportsCenter's highlights both times. Still, I wouldn't try to piss off a team made up of a lot of Polynesians.
Good times.

And that is different that Raiders (puke!) fans stabbing people at games how? Please...head up to SF some time and go to a Dodgers/Giants game...the fans throw batteries on the field and at other fans. It almost makes LA games look tame.
I remember when going to a Dodger game was less of a "gang-land" type experience....the good old days. I hate going up there now. Too many a-holes who don't know the game just showing up because they are there to "represent". What a bunch of BS.
Talk about rabid fans, catch a game at Yankee stadium sometime. At least I can respect most NY fans because they aren't of the bandwagon variety as we have here in LA...Oh yeah, we love the Lakers...when they win....
Ok..ending my rant now.

My absolute favorite soccer story:
Seems that a certain South American soccer team was highly rated to win the World Cup, either in the late 1960's or early 1970's. They came very close, but lost the Final by one goal.
They were flying home to their home country when one of the flight attendants came back to them and said that the airport had contacted the pilot, and there were hundreds of thousands of their fans waiting for them at the airport.
The guys had been feeling pretty bad, but with the news that their fans were still excited enough to meet them at the airport, they perked up. "Isn't that the greatest?" "Man, I didn't realize how great our fans are!" and that type of thing.
So, they finally landed and let all of the other people off the plane first. The team finally deplaned, and when enough of them were on the tarmac, the barriers that had been holding the fans back gave way and the fans swarmed all over the team - and started beating the crap out of them!!
I may have a very sick sense of humor, but I giggle to myself every time I think of that.

Who was that soccer player that was shot because his team didn't win?

My bother was puked on by a Boston red Sox fan yesterday.
My brother works as an usher for the Blue Jays and he was just standing there doing his job when the red sox fan walked by him and threw up all over him.
But what's gross was that the Jays didn't give him a clean uniform. he had to wash up and wear the pukey uniform for the rest of the game.

After the 1994 World Cup game against the United States in which he accidently kicked the ball into his own goal, thus eliminating Colombia from advancing to the next round, defender Andres Escobar was shot 8 times and killed outside of Medllin, the shooters yelling "goal" after every shot

I'm not sure, but after the 1950 World Cup final in which Brazil lost to Uruguay 2-1 IN BRAZIL, two wierd things happened:
1) The Brazilian National team has NEVER worn a white jersey since that game
2) The goalie for that Brazilian team was SHUNNED. He went back to his village and NO ONE, EVER AGAIN, talked to him, spoke to him, communicated with him. He was a ghost until his death.
I believe the same thing happened to Taffarel after the 1998 choke job.
