Everyone above has said it so well, I just want to second what they said. In addition, I would add that everything that you go through in a pledging process should have a very concrete purpose that you would feel comfortable explaining to another person, such as the dean of the school. At my chapter, even asking girls to not wear watches was considered hazing. Anything you are asked to do needs to have a reason beyond "bonding"-a blanket term which has been abused in too many chapters. Also ask yourself if something they have you do makes you proud to be associated with them, neutral, or ashamed. Only do things that would make you proud to be considered part of that group.
