Please Tell Me About Florida Atlantic

I am interested in hearing about Florida Atlantic University. Is there a good greek system there? What sort of student body do they have? Is the university supportive of greeks; are they trying to attract traditional residential students? Do they have a viable school atheltics program? Thanks for any information you can provide.

I know there's a few ladies from FAU that can answer the question better than me but I'll try to answer the best of my knowledge since I grew up right by the school.
FAU is still very much a commuter school. From my understanding, this complicates recruitment a lot. They have a decent size greek system, though.
Here's a list of the current greeks:
Sororities-
Alpha Xi, DPhiE, Phi Sig, Theta Phi Alpha

Fraternities-
AEPi, ATO, Beta, Pike, Sammy, SigEp

Their football team is Division I. I'm not sure how they did last season.

We did some research into that school in 1999. At that time, the city of Boca Raton's zoning did not permit fraternity housing. I doubt that this has changed, but it could have. Also, there was talk of a university built greek row, but it was just talk. These two factors limit the dynamism of the greek system, but I've got a hunch that the school will eventually build an on-campus greek row.

Here's their web site for greek affairs:
