Genres?

Erm I dunno? A story on anything??? What did you mean by ideas? Genres? A starting point?
Romance/sex? Okay maybe not erotica for your class... Swashbuckling? Horror - vampires, black masses on campus etc? Organised crime, mafia etc or combined with romance? Fantasy worlds, entering through dreams etc?

I am thinking there is a good chance this post made the problem worse not better.

My problem is that I am poet by nature, not a fiction writer. And I'm taking a fiction creative writing class, as well as a poetry writing workshop in one semester. And I can do the poetry very easily, but the fiction is very difficult for me. But I came up with something. My boyfriend says it's just a poem in story format. But if it's not there, I'm not going to force it. And if my teacher doesn't like it, she can just shove it up her ass. So there.

But thanks for the help anyway! (At a Christian university, I don't think the erotica would go over too well, but it's a nice thought... I can just imagine the reactions lol)

Naaaaa wouldn't suggest it either! hehehhe

If it is fiction why don't you sit down and brainstorm some ideas of modern day news events and go off of that and be creative from that.

Writer's Digest has a writing prompt every day...there are some good ideas in that list. (I think today's idea is really cute! It is "Write as if you were a family’s new pet. What was it like for you to come home on your first day?" )

Here is the link.
