Ms. Gronkieys school room cought on fire from a candle burning on her desk.
The fire go hot enough to explode Dorys Fish Bowl and put the fire out.
Dory was a stange type of fish, it can breath for a short time with out water. The Fire People put Dory in a cup of water, they save Dory and Dory saved the school!
No, it's an actual news story. Here it is from the AP wire:
There's nothing fishy about the tale of Dory -- the hero fish. The red Beta fish is the mascot of a third grade class at Trinity Lone Oak Lutheran School in Eagan, Minnesota. The teacher (Linda Krienke) says a fire broke out on her desk last weekend. It not only set off the school's alarm, but it was also hot enough to cause Dory's fish bowl to explode. The water doused the flames and firefighters found only glowing embers on the desk. One of the firemen discovered Dory flopping around on the floor -- and called for a glass of water. Dory survived and now the kids are writing stories about how their hero fish saved the school.
Originally posted by decadence I believe "Beta" fish are the same fish known as "Japanese Fighting Fish" in the UK. In the UK they aren't a common pet choice at all unlike it seems as in the U.S? Generally due to the fact (or rumor?) two males in a tank will try to kill each other, drawing blood etc (obvioulsy same isn't true of mixed/one on it's own). Are they the same fish?
Yes.
