Don't you hate it when you are planning a trip and your travel agent doesn't tell you about other things that you could have gotten for a few extra $$? Like when Hubby and I went to Disney World for our honeymoon last year, the travel agent that booked the trip didn't tell us that for an extra $100 we could have gotten meal vouchers for 2 meals each day for the week we were there!! We had to find out six months later from a frat brother of his that booked a DW trip for his family (using the same agency but a different agent) I was like at her and then Hubby and I was like with ourselves because we did tell her that we were interested in having the most fun at DW for the least amount of $$, but still we could have come up with another $100.....I know when I book my Vegas package for Convention, I'm going to nicely ask her about any and all extras that Hubby and I can get!!!

Another thing that I hate is when hotel people don't tell you the full story of their costs and services when you book the room but tell you when you check out!! This past weekend, Hubby and I drove down to Detroit to see Chris Rock at the Fox and when I booked the hotel the lady was quick to tell me that it was 3-4 blocks from the theater, that the Greektown and MGM casinos were only steps away, that the Fox was across the street from Comerica Stadium and that Ford Field was the site of either next year's or '06's Super Bowl. That's wonderful and all, but you could have told me that parking was $15 a day and that phone calls were 75 cents each even if you call the 1-800 number for your calling card and you certainly could have told me you soap-opera watching, gum-popping, fried chicken eating, bad weave wearing COW that for the $15 a day that Hubby and I had the car parked, we could have gotten valet and shuttle service!!! These things you tell us when we checked out Sunday morning!! You better believe that I know your name and I will be talking with your manager today about your shoddy service!!

Don't you hate it when people are inconsistent?

Don't you hate it when people swear they know everything?

Don't you hate it when people dig in their nose while they're driving? ICK!

. . . someone at work has some good smelling Chicken Noodle soup and you want to tell them that it smells good but do not want to appear like a hungry person. But I think I will stop at the store on my way home and buy some cans of Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup to satisfy my sudden craving.

. . .when scallywags won't let something die!!

...at lunchtime, you go into the men's room to wash your hands, and someone is in a stall having an intense "Ex-Lax" moment, both audibly and olfactorily which is so bad that it ruins your appetite. If I see someone in a stall when I just want to wash up, I will leave immediately.

True story from me regarding that very situation:

I attended an HBCU some years back, and by some fluke I owed the Cash Management Dept. $4.35 for tuition or somethin', but the clerk let me register for classes and all that and told me not to worry about the balance. So I basically forgot about it. Well, 2 1/2 years later, when the school was under a MAJOR state audit for misuse of funds, I received a VERY NASTY collection letter from the university saying if I didn't pay the $4.35, they would refer my case to a collection agency. Well, I drove to the school to settle the matter, and left with $130 more in my pocket. How's that? Well, I put a $135 refundable room deposit that was supposed to be refunded after I left the school that I never received. Luckily it was still on their books. Shoot, I bet they wish they never sent me that collection notice, cause that was the most expensive $4.35 they ever collected.

Da Rain Man
During my final semester at school I was an RA, so my room was free. I was therefore due to receive a refund. When I got to the financial aid office, they told me that a charge of $33.50 had not been added to my bill, so I would have to bring them this amount, in cash , before I could receive my $1,000+ refund. I simply didn’t have it, with both parents out of work; nor could I understand why they wouldn’t just cut me a new check minus the $33.50. Long story short, I didn’t get the money (which I needed desperately for expenses) until several weeks after graduation. The phone company was understanding, but American Express closed my account over charges of less than $100.00, because my check was over 90 days late. The kicker? The resident life program had forgotten to add some monies to my account, so I eventually got the original $33.50 back over the summer.

How about when the person who wants to use the microwave next takes your food out to heat up theirs? A girl here did that over a year ago, and I still don't like her because of it.

Other things that get under my skin:

... People who hang up without a word when they dial the wrong number. Whenever I dial the wrong number I say to the person who answers, "I'm sorry. I believe I have misdialed. Have a nice day."

LOL, are we family.

. . . when folks take your clothes out of the washer or dryer (laundromat -- haven't been in years but this bought about a flashback)

Update on the Wreath Neighbors. . .They still have it up. I have tried to theorize why and I have come to the conclusion that it is now up in honor of Black History Month. . . Red and Green and Black folks live there.

I wish they would take it down.

Telephone Issues

Don't you hate it when

. . . . . You get good and comfortable in your bed and then the phone rings

. . . . . People know you are home but still call you on your cell phone (can I please try to conserve my daytime minutes?)

. . . . . Don't you hate it when people know that you screen your calls and they still won't leave a message on your answering machine. Then, they decide to call you every hour on the hour until you pick up. (Hint: If you don't leave a message, I ain't NEVER gonna pick up)

I feel you BB91, but to be fair....

you gotta also hate it when someone microwaves their grub but leaves it in there for 5, 10 minutes. WTH? This ain't home; get ya vittles out peeps....

other hate it whens ...

you try to merge lanes and the driver in the other car tries to act like they don't see you? Memo: you are not R. DiNiro, and that is not an Academy Award in your backseat -- I KNOW you see me. Don't trip.

your mom, padna, or "distraction" calls during the last two minutes of an important game. For moms, you give it up and holla...but everybody else gets "let me get back with you in a minute."

You're in (insert fav. chicken spot) and you get this..."it's going to be 10 minutes before we have more dark meat ready." In "our" people time, 10 is really 25 minutes.

(don't really hate this one but) you're in Bible study and lil Shante' is in the pew right behind you wreaking havoc with his mom; and the tootsie rolls, Honey Snaps and other things/food she has brought to bribe said child into silence are not working. Peeps, this is (partially) what Children's Church is about.

HOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I was at this church two weeks ago. I sat behind a family with 3 kids. i was there first. The little boy kept dropping either his toy car or an eraser. I got so tired of picking it up and handing it BACK TO THE MOTHER who never even said thank you. Hello!!! You are interrupting my Jesus time!!!

I hate it when kids bring toys and food to church. Take them to Children's Church, INDEED!! Or teach them that this is God's house and we do not play or eat HERE!!!!
