The Grammies are commercialized. I mean, really blantantly so.

I'm rooting for:
Outkast
The White Stripes
Fountains of Wayne (best new band??? I've been listening to them since 8th grade!!!)
Bob Dylan
Radiohead
Queens of the Stone Age
Erykah Badu

I'm amused the female rock vocal nominees. Pink? Michelle Branch? Avril? Rock, my ass.

Oh wait. Sigur Ros and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs got nominated. I'm starting to feel a little better.

I'm just going to stop now I think, though, before I get more pissed off.

Oh no, they didn't. I hate that damn song, "Stacey's Mom," and they go nominate it for a Grammy. There is something very sad and wrong about that.

You have no idea how divided the association is.

Every year, my dad and I vote...and every year the WEIRDEST ppl show up on the ballot, (esp. in the last 5 years)... kinda makes you wonder if any $$$ is exchanging hands

i take that back - didn't eminem win for lose yourself last year? or at least wasn't he nominated for it? wtf?

That song is not really one of my favorite Fountains of Wayne Songs. I have been listening to them since 1996-1997, whenever it was that their self-titled debut came out. "Stacey's Mom" is not one of their strongest pieces but I'm rooting for them anyway. They write smart (emphasis on smart) retro-pop songs. Anyone who can do smart pop rules my world.

Better songs to download are their other (older) singles, including:

I AGREE!!! Jason Mraz should be up there. He came to UK last year and played for free...really cool.

Yeah he's a recording engineer, meaning he mixes music and makes it sound good, makes sure you can hear the voices clearly, there's enough bass, the music doesn't sound brassy, etc. I need to ask him but I think if you work a certain amount of hours with credited studios or if you're nominated for an award (he's done both) then you are invited to be a member of NARAS. We pay membership dues and every year he and I vote together.
