Question Do You Clean Up Before ...

compnay comes over? The other day my mom was fussing @ my sisters saying "It is a shame we have to clean up before people come over." I told her I think most people put stuff in order before people come over. By no means is the house a mess, but she will tidy up before anyone comes by.
So the question is: Do you tidy up before company comes by?
If not why? (you are always clean? you just don't care? it depends on the person?)

Si.

Since we aren't filthy, I don't see any reason why we should, but the folks in my house make me clean with them.

Now I am the same way! Sorry, I'm not a "neat freak" and hubby and I definitely got to cleaning/straightening before gramma came down from NC. I didn't wanna hear "now you KNOW I ain't teach you to keep house like this!"

And when she came, she said "well, baby, y'all working all the time and doing other stuff. It ain't easy to keep a house clean all the time!"

Yes, You have to make sure things are in order. With going to work, school and taking care of the baby my house is not dirty it just has a few clothes, shoes and what have you thrown about.

I always keep my downstairs looking nice, just in case someone drops by unexpected. We don't really use our downstairs too much, so there isn't too much last minute cleaning to be done. There might be dishes in the sink, but oh well. If you drop by unannounced or on short notice, you just have to see our dirty dishes.

Now, I'm not cleaning up my bedroom for anybody but me. If you are close enough to me to be in my bedroom, then you know that it's rarely clean.

I keep my apartment relatively clean just in case someone pops up with out calling... and if they do show up unexpected they will see dishes in the sink and they will see that my bedroom sometimes looks like a disaster area but it's usually papers from school so I can pick those up real quick

If I know you are coming I do some extra hard cleaning especially if its mom... you know dishes, toilet, vacuum, mopping, dusting, and scrubbing the tub extra hard (cause shes nosey and likes to peek)

Smile Neat Freak

My place for the most part is always neat. And being that I don't have guests that drop by without calling first ( I won't go the door if I'm not expecting company) no one sees my place messy.

I was raised that way...don't go to sleep with dishes in the sink or trash in the trash can...
