Question Which Mascot Did Your Chapter Use?

Sorors and Sisterfriends,

Since we do not have an official mascot, which one did your chapter use? Sisterfriends, which one is used on your campus? My undergrad chapter used the mouse, but some sorors have not heard of the mouse being used before. Besides the mouse, I have heard of the frog, bunny, and the pink panther. Are there any others?

Hello AKATUDE,

I just thought I would comment on your question. I too have heard of all those mascots but the chapter at my school use a mouse to represent them. So I always get confused when others tell me they have heard of bunnies and frogs etc.

My chapter use the frog to represent us occassionally, but for the most part we stick to the Ivy. My previous school they used the mouse.

We really didn't use an animal mascot, although we were familiar with the mouse and bunny. We mainly just used the Ivy leaf.

Mornin' everyone!! The use of mascot (albeit unofficial) are totally regional to me. I've found that sorors back home (in the NE section of the states) use rabbit, which sorors down here (in the south) primarily use frogs. I've seen some use mice. I've also noticed the pink panther being used by sorors in the midwest and west coast.

Oh well...personally I've tried to stick to using the ivy leaf, but I do have several frog candles around my place!

Akatude, most of the sorors in the Southeastern region use the frog occasionally as our mascot, but we generally stick to the ivy leaf. I have never seen the pink panther being used as a mascot and rarely mice, but I do know a few sorors up north who use the rabbit as their mascot. Check you later sorors and sisterfriends.

Cool

Mid-Atlantic here...Spr. '89
My Chapter used the Bunny.... and I still collect them to this day.
We don't die we multiply!!!
(used before the late Robin Harris made it famous).
Since the bunny is not a global thing, I get very happy when I see it on nalia. I do not purchase anything with another mascot on it. Lately, my purchases have been of the Shield and 20 Pearl IVY.

I went undergrad in the Mid-Atlantic Region and we use the mouse and Ivy Leaf to represent. It's interesting to me that AKAnVA from Richmond uses the bunny. My sister, who goes to NSU bought me a frog because the sorors on her campus use that.

I posted earlier and said my undergrad chapter used the bunny. My undergrad chapter is also in the Mid-Atlantic Region (NC).

Cool

Sorors,
I was made NC( Elon College).. Spr. 89. I love my bunnies and for some reason, frogs have even taken over a FEW of my Undergrad Soror's shelves. Well, I just let them know my history with the bunny and let it go from there.
I know that chapters, regions, etc. have reasons for using certain mascots, but I will stick with my bunnies. That is what I was taught and it has stuck with me throughout the years.
In a way, I am glad that we only have the Shield and the 20 Pearl Ivy, because if we had to pick an animal mascot right now, it would be a very heated debate.
