That's what will happen at the University of South Carolina for the 1st two rounds. There are 8 GLOs participating in formal recruitment, but there will be 10 1st-round parties. The way it was explained to me is that they are doing this so that there will not be as many PNMs at one party. The PNMs will have 2 party-free periods. I think the GLOs will not get a break.

Sounds like a good idea to me. With so many PNMs going through, it makes sense to have less at a party so they can meet more actives.

I am unabashedly excited for these threads! I LOVE RUSH! Can't help it and yes, I called it RUSH!
And I love the idea of the theme names! I'm totally dyslexic with numbers so keeping the House:1, House:2 information straight was pretty hard for my crazy little head.
I'm trying to think what name theme I would have chosen if I were on GC as a pnm now....
I'm thinking maybe women's authors, I would have liked matching the writer with the sorority:
Bronte Chapter,Austen Chapter, Alcott Chapter, Millay Chapter,
Eliot Chapter, Allende Chapter, Rowling Chapter, Morrison Chapter
Or, the other thing that kept me sane during rush was my candy binge with my roommate every night after our parties so I could have used the names of my faves: Snickers House, Twizzlers House, M&Ms House, Reeses House, Lollipops House etc...
Good luck to all you fabulous PNMs...we who love value our chapters depend on your interest to keep our soroities going. I wish you all the very best recruitment experience one could ever have, and I thank you all for letting us be a part of it!

penn state info

penn state rush (i still call it that, cuz with 20 sororities it is a rush!) is shortened this year due to home football games, religious holidays, the fact that we're starting later and homecoming is the last week in september. i'm gonna be a pi chi this year and the schedule is mad insane. all of the girls are given little booklets to keep track of the sororities they see each day. any other questions or comments about our recruitment pm me! oh and if you make it through and are get at least one invite to pref nite, then you're guarenteed a bit. otherwise there are no guarentees you'll get a bid. most women who go to all of the parties they're supposed to get a bid.

the penn state we're talking about is the main campus at university park. there are 19 other campuses in the penn state system. most though are 2 year schools and then they transfer to main campus.

I know that you were talking about Penn State-Main. I go to school about 40 mins away, and I do happen to be in State College a quite bit. I was just pointing out that there was an AST chapter....just not at University Park.

I love the idea someone had about naming the four sororities she'd be rushing after the Hogwarts houses. I have to wonder which one will be Slytherin!

Won't it be funny to read "I just loved Slytherin!! The girls were all so nice and so kind!"
