the perfect pref dress?
I'm really in love with this dress. I went to the nearest store the other day and tried on the nearest size to mine, so I'm really considering ordering one in my size off the website. What do you think of this dress with a nice white cardigan and some strappy, white sandals?

Never been
I have never been through Formal Recruitment on either side so I don't really know if it would work as a pref dress. But if I were you I would not wear a white cardigan I would wear something more to accent the other colors in the pattern but that is just my two cents and yes white strappy sandles are cute.

I'm not sure where you're going through recruitment but at my school (University of Arizona) that dress would be more appropriate set three, which is skit day and house tours. Since our pref night is actually at night compared to all the other sets which take place during the day more of a night time dress is called for, ie cocktail dress. Though the dress is very cute!

At Bowling Green, we only have 3 rounds of recruitment. The first two are open house and philanthropy nights and we have a recruitment shirt for these, so that only leaves one outfit I need to come up with, for pref.
(edit) our pref day starts at 1pm and ends at 4pm, in mid-September.

I really love that dress...and it would be perfect at my scool, even without the cardigan...but my school is more relaxed...
So, I guess the question is...where are you going to school?

It will really depend on your school. I took a look at Bowling Green sorority webpages for their recruitment photos. Most have been taken down but some show members in matching satin dresses. Others in all black wearing pins. This would lead me to believe that you might want to wear something darker in color. Best to ask before you buy although if you like it and it is on sale you might wear it somewhere else if not to pref.

I like the dress.
Since it's during the day the lighter color should be fine. Besides, you don't want to blend in too much with the members. You want to stick out a bit so they remember you.
I wouldn't wear a cardigan with it, well maybe tied around your shoulders. A cardigan would hide half of the bouquet design. I really like this dress though. Plus you can wear a cardigan with it without a problem

that is a REALLY pretty dress! it looks perfect for summer, and you wouldn't need a cardigan. however, i am going to be in agreement with some of the others and say it might not be appropriate for pref - definitely not if you went to my school. it seems to totally depend on where you are going to be rushing!

I saw that one while I was in the store, that cut would look awful on me, though I wish it didn't, as it's a very cute dress!

If it was my decision I would go with a darker color with recruitment being in September but the dress is very cute.

more thoughts
Not sure about the exact timing at play here, but what about the whole white after labor day thing?
That is a pretty dress, but I'm concerned it might be more appropriate for June/July than for early fall. Which is probably why it's marked way down NOW, in early July.
I also would second what everyone else is saying, that a darker, more sophisticated type dress might be more appropriate for pref ceremonies, though it depends on the college. Since your pref ceremonies will be in the daytime (1-4pm you say) you probably don't need to go too dressy.

I agree w/ twinstars...that dress is adorable but it is way too summery. Even if pref is in the day, you still kind of "pretend" that it's nighttime.
