I am not a Sigma Kappa, but the women may not be able to respond to your post due to rules about pre-rush silence and contact with prospective members. The best places to find more info are the school's website or your Greek life office.

Thanks 33girl.
Hi VIOLETGRL24,
I am so happy to hear that you are interested in Sigma Kappa. May I direct you to our National Website so that you can learn all about Sigma Kappa. And as 33girl suggested, see if The University of Hartford has a Greek Life website.
Please keep us informed on your recruitment experience. You can, and you should, post your experience in the Rush Forum. GCer's are junkies for good recruitment/rush stories.

First of all, congrats on choosing to look into a wonderful sisterhood, I hope you further your search.
Secondly, where in NY are you from?? City or state?

One of my sorority sisters (and suitemate for two years) was from Queens - hillarious girl! She still lives in Arizona but she says she will always be from Queens!

Sigma Kappa is beautiful!
As I read about Sigma Kappa, I knew I was going to be happy with choosing that as a basis (but not entirely) in creating a local sorority at my school called Sigma Kappa Epsilon Pi.
I love SK's mission statement.

I think SK represents what the women of Mount Ida stand for and represent.
Mount Ida mission statement: "Mount Ida College provides a diverse community of learners a challenging education that blends the liberal arts with professional preparation. We dedicate our energy, imagination, and resources to empowering all students to achieve academically and contribute responsibly in a changing world."
Our school colors are green and white, but I don't think SKEPi will choose those as our colors. We may use SK's colors, violet and white. Our mascot is the horse, but a horse could represent SKEPi but I'm not sure yet.
I'm still in the process of getting the info together for SKEPi and to write a proposal to tell the school we want to create this social/service sorority. There probably is a basis of why Sigma Kappa was created.. I'll look into that further and collaborate.
