Question about making letters

Hello,

I think I've read all the threads about making letters, but I'm still having trouble with one thing. My letters begin to fray before I even get them sewn on the shirt. Is there some sort of trick that can prevent this?

Thanks!

Try Fray Check on the edges beforehand, hopefully that will help. You should be able to find it at Walmart or any fabric store.

Good luck!

Didn't know such a thing existed, thank you very much! I will definitely try that.

Thanks for the luck too, I'll definitely need it.

also if you just take a tiny bit of fabric glue and run it over the edges before you put it on, it will hold the fray..
when you sew them on that also helps them to not fray...
and sometimes i do puffy paint glitter around them so they stay too

i use wonder-under. iron it to the fabric you're cutting the letters out of before you cut them out, then you iron the letters to the shirt. keeps everything in place.
