I guess I'm showing my age?

8-track: The Bar-kays

33s: I won these off the radio: Sade "Pride"

Maze "I can't get over you" (single)
Wham- All of them
Duran Duran- All of them
Power Station
Sharon Bryant -"Let Go" (Original lead singer of Atlantic Starr)
*Those are the ones I can remember off the top"

45s: my multiplication tables (lmao)
sesame street tunes
a stack of old songs from my grandmother's juke box from her "club"

Wink Not gonna leave you hangin'

I don't know about 8-tracks, but I have/had plenty of 33s and 45s.

33s:
New Edition: All of them
Cameo: Candy
EU: Da Butt
I can't remember what else I had

45s:
Teena Marie
Stevie Wonder
Barry White
Deneice Williams
Michael Jackson: Off the Wall & Thriller
and a host of others

The Thriller album was for me (and of course all the 33s were mine ) . The rest were for my mom. I just hung on to them after our record player was played out. I didn't have the nerve or will to throw them out. I kind of want to buy a record player so that I can listen to them. That old vinyl sound is cool.

funny

being a dj.. I have all the current hits (and some misses) on 33rpm records. THe thing is all record labels still make vinyl (for the club dj's) and just give it to us. But, of course, vinyl is pretty much not available for purchase anymore in your major chain music store..

I problably have over 20,000 records including:

The entire Stevie Wonder collection
The entire Parliment Funkadelic Collection
Most of Earth Wind's albums..

Angry

Ooooooh...this makes me so angry! I used to have SO many records and a vintage record player that was handed down to me by my mom. I had records like Thriller, the Saturday Night Fever Sdtk., The Eagles, Wham!, Foreigner, and Bruce Springsteen. I left it at my mothers house when I moved away fro college and just last year, I went home to get them. She had thrown it all out, saying she didn't want her house to be "cluttery"!

There actually is a store here that still sells vinyl, but where on earth can I get a record player?? lol

record player

you can purchase a turntable at any MARS music outlet. You can also order a turntable on-line.. Just do a search on any search engine on "turntable".. and see which one fits your needs..

Cool 78s

Because my father would have turned 80 this year, we've got some records that are old jazz 78s, Louis Armstrong and the like. Got countless 33s and 45s, jazz, classical, even some soul (from my older sister) and cheesy 70s pop (when I was a child and had poor musical taste).

But I have no 8-tracks.
