It was reported in another thread Kansas State has 818 registered for recruitment.
Does anyone know if this is a larger number than last year?

Yes, per KSU panhellenic this is their largest number ever. Seems that recruitment is on a major upswing here in Kansas... so exciting

Texas A&M had 901 begin recruitment last year. As of last Friday numbers were at 1013 and they expect about 1100 when all is said and done.

According to the Iowa State Recruitment twitter account, there are now more than 800 PNMs registered. Last year's pledge classes were around 40-42 members, they could be almost 50 this year! Crazy! My pledge class was 22 in 1997, and that was a big year back then. Housing is going to be an issue if large pledge classes become the norm.
I'm going to help with Pref night; I may even get to take my badge(s) out of the lock box!

Actually, they were at 2030 on Monday. And freshman quota last year was 90 or 95 (forget which) and UC quota was 10.

Yes, Alabama 2012 quota was 95 for the primary pool and 10 for the upperclass pool.
I can't wait for the 2013 quota numbers to start rolling in!

Something I think you and others at Alabama might find of interest with that number: with 2,030 (and rising) signed up, more young women are seeking to join a sorority at the Capstone this year than who were IN A SORORITY there ten years ago when Dr. Robert Witt came to Alabama and the Greek numbers at the University began to take off!!

As of yesterday, Florida State has 1635 girls signed up. The recruitment application will be active until the 11th, so my guess is that they will end up with just shy of 1700 girls. I believe that number is bigger than last year (I think it was somewhere around 1500) so it is slowly but steadily growing. To be honest, I'm a little bit relieved because I am a PNM and they were expecting 1800 girls to rush.

More girls doesn't affect you. I know it's hard to wrap your mind around, but more girls just means bigger pledge classes, not increased competition.
