Yoga DVDs?

I've been interested in trying out yoga for a while now, but I travel too frequently for work to make taking a class a possibility. I'm looking for a DVD that I could use for about half an hour each morning. Have any of you done yoga on DVD before? Any specific ones you would or wouldn't recommend?

Thanks!

I would recommend a DVD for beginners if you've never done it before.

My first yoga experiences were actually from VHS videos! I bought some videos by Gaiam-- Power Yoga for Beginners and Abs Yoga for Beginners. I used them quite a bit actually and sometimes looking back would almost rather do one of those than attend one of my classes!

You can also check your on Demand if you have it, there are a lot of free programs. Also the library. Before you commit to anything!

I have the Yoga for Beginners, the most basic DVD I believe. I'm not sure if I'd recommend it though. It's not very engaging and I felt more bored than relaxed. However, you can skip around to make it as long or short as you want which was nice.

I would recommend finding a a local studio that allows you to "drop in" for a small fee (the ones around here are $10-$15) and take just a class or two to get the basic postures down. I only say that because a DVD can describe the postures but can't correct you if you're doing it wrong.

Denise Austin has a variety of yoga dvds.

some people find her too chipper, but i love her. her "yoga personality" isn't exactly the same as her "aerobics personality" if that makes any sense.

Thanks all - I appreciate your feedback!

I've definitely been considering looking into drop ins or trials at yoga studios, I was just looking for something a little more consistent.

Since im new to yoga I've also been considering taking a few classes before my heavy travel starts so I can get enough instruction to do it with a DVD. Dr. Phil, how long was it before you felt comfortable doing it on your own?
