Cool Sophomore Transfer.. HELP!

Hi! I will be a sophomore and I'm transferring from SU over to Udub and I am planning on participating in formal recruitment. SU doesn't have any greek system unfortunately but I was wondering if anyone out there has been a sophomore at Udub that has gone through the process and gotten a bid. I know as a sophomore it is slightly more challenging because a lot of houses want freshman but any recommendations on how to bring my A-game as a transfer sophomore and an answer if UW is a guaranteed bid school would be awesome. Thanks guys!

There's no such thing as a "guaranteed bid" school.

Many schools use what's known as "generally assured bidding."

What that means is IF you make it all the way to Preference round, attend all of your Preference round parties, and rank all of the chapters you attend on your final card, you will get a bid to one of them.

That does not mean that everyone who goes through recruitment is guaranteed to receive a bid.

PNMs can still be released before Preference round.

Crap I just wrote a long post that disappeared.
Short version. My daughter is in a Sorority at University of Washington. She has had new members who were not Freshmen. I don't know anything about the girls who were not Freshman - did they have college 4.0's, already have friends in the chapter, etc.

If you have good grades, activities, friendly manner and accept all invitation you are allowed you have a good chance. Udub always has a lot of quota additions, so I think, if you make it to Pref you will get a bid. It is recommended that you get recs for Udub, but you don't need multiple like an SEC school.

These statement are just my observations, I am neither an undergrad nor an alum of UW, so take anyone else who is as more of an authority.

Good luck. Give it a try, because you will never know if you don't. Besides, it would be worth it to see all the houses on the first two days if nothing else.
