Grey's Anatomy Season 7

Rule: East Coasters post NO SPOILERS WITHOUT A WARNING and/or making the spoiler highlightable until the West Coasters have gotten a chance to see it (midnight your time). Same conditions for any spoilers for future episodes, the spoilers should be invisible or have a warning just out of courtesy for those who don't look 3 episodes ahead (like I do ).

Who's excited?????

I'm not going to lie I sort of didn't enjoy tonight's episode as much as I thought I would and I am NOT excited for next week :/

I was excited and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It's so hard to believe they are on season 7 already. I love Bailey.

*potential spoilers ahead that i can't white-out because I'm using mobile web*

It didn't feel like a season premiere. It didn't really have anything intense or suspenseful. Just kinda eh.
And the part with Derek just like telling that kid he's fine and "he won" and all of a sudden he's okay....mmm no.....

I can't believe Chandra Wilson got passed up for an Emmy AGAIN. This is a serious crime against humanity.

You know what I mean.

Anyone notice this is the second time Alex has broken up with a girl after she's been committed?

Chandra Wilson wasn't even nominated this time. I was shocked when I saw that. I think that maybe the whole controversy with Katherine Heigl turning down the nomination ticked off the Emmy people.

That would be consistent with Alex's backstory of caring for his mentally ill mother. It's his deal breaker for sure. He can't deal with mental illness.

TPA: I thought it felt like a good follow up to the season finale from May. There was a lot to address and wrap up after that.
I thought the scene with Derek calming the kid down was good. The kid woke up in pain and in a panic about it. The mind has considerable control over how you react to pain and I think Derek brought him out of his hysteria about the pain. I didn't take it as though the kid was no longer in pain, he just knew he wasn't dying. Besides, they'd pumped him full of pain meds already, they probably hadn't taken effect yet. I'd equate to labor pains, which is one of the worst pains (not the worst, but probably second worst) I've ever felt. The mind is definitely able to overcome the pain using the techniques they teach in child birth classes. Panic definitely makes it worse.

It was standard GA. BIIIIG finale. Quiet season opener.

And crossover ep in three weeks. Why is Derek not speaking to his sister?

Derek isn't speaking to his sister because she caused their mother a lot of problems after their father died. He is just disappointed in her life choices.

This week's ep was better than I thought it would be. In any case, it solved the mystery of the "tree man." I always wondered why that happens to some people.

I know the age gap is kinda weird (or at least it was at first) but I reeeeallly want Mark and Lexie back together.
