I love the level of detail you shared for Pref. It is hands down my favorite night, but we usually get less detail to keep the code. I think you handled it beautifully!
And even better, it sounds like you have two fantastic options for bid day! Sometimes it's hard to figure out which voice is your head, which is your heart, and which is a third party. Again, executed beautifully. Can't wait to see where you wind up!
Side note- the maximum number of bids you can get from formal recruitment is one. Only in COB is it possible to get more than one. Just how formal works there may be exceptions of course, but...

Oooh I want to know more! I rushed at Berkeley this fall as a Junior exchange student and I have an inkling who French is (sounds like my pref night) but I'm not totally sure!
Don't worry about the cut thing - I had that too and I was never sure whether it was just because I'd only be there for a year/or they just didn't like me. I had 6/9 in the 2nd day, 4/6 on philanthropy night and and 1/3 on preference. Most of the girls in my group (juniors) had 8 or all 9 on the first day, so I did feel a bit self-conscious that day. And pref was touching but a little weird as I knew I was already guaranteed a bid from them but they didn't know! But in the end having fewer made it easier to choose! But I ended up with one of my two favourites, so I am happy! But I think it's true the houses you tend to click with best are the ones that invite you back!

Hello, Sunshine -- I remember you! Did you get a bid? Where did you land up?

The colloquial term is "suicide" as a verb. Jane suicided. Not Jane committed suicide.

In formal recruitment, PNMs are only matched to one chapter. It is possible to match to a different chapter depending on how you rank them, if you are high on all 3 lists. It is also possible to match with your first choice and be lower on their list than you are on your 2nd or 3rd choice. However, if a chapter invites you to pref, they are willing to give you a bid. You are on their bid list, somewhere.
I really enjoyed your decriptions of pref. I think you ranked them correctly, based on your accounts. It's also good that you'd be happy in either. Also, I'd just like to point out that it's pretty rare (or at least we don't have many PNMs say this on GC) for a PNM to not have a full schedule but to have been asked back to chapters she wanted most. Kudos to you for your self-awareness.

Violet is right. The fact that you never lost your favorites is remarkable. Who cares if you didn't have a full schedule? In years to come you will see this as the amazing thing it is, when right now you're just seeing yourself as not as popular.
Congratulations so far! You didn't tell us if you are guaranteed a bid if you maximize your options. I thought with RFM that is always the case, but I don't know nearly enough about the process, or even if Berkeley is using RFM.

The twelve sororities are different, so the better you fit into one group, the worse you fit into the others.
I'd be surprised if OP didn't end up joining French.

Okay... with love and careful thought, you are a ... Kappa Alpha Theta?
It HAS to be, it's the Omega Chapter. Come ON!
