Wow, five girls from CT. Four from my county (one is from my hometown), and one from upstate.

For cities without a state after them, should we assume they're located in Alabama?

There really are! Two girls from Wisconsin got bids, one from right by my hometown! One went Phi Mu and one to Theta.

Ha, I love that there are more girls from Missouri, and more from Pennsylvania, and more from Illinois, and more from California, than from Auburn and Opelika put together!

Just learned today that my PNM pledged AXO - was apparently one of her two favorites the whole week so I am so very happy for her.
And I would not expect that many girls for Auburn and Opelika to be pledging at Bama - they tend to either stay at home or go to UGA. We train those girls not to follow the dark side.

I wrote 12 recs for girls who ended up accepting bids.
Here's how they panned out:
3 went AOII!
2 went KAO!
1 went KD!
1 went ZTA!
1 went DDD!
1 went APhi!
And....3 went Gamma Phi Beta! Wooohooo! I like to think that I affected the positive outcome in those three cases. (:

Looking for Advice
Hello! My dd is a Senior in high school this year and has planned on rushing at Bama since we took her to her first football game and she saw all the "pretty girls in the big houses" near the stadium.
I attended a small college out of state that did not have Greek life, so I know nothing about this. I have been following this site for the past week since we have some friends who have daughters that were PNMs at Bama during Rush last week. It has been so much fun and at times sad to read all of the different remarks. Thank you all for your heartfelt comments. I have learned so much in such a little time.
The reason for my post is that I am wondering if there is a guide to read or advice that you can give for us to begin to prepare for this process. I know that she has plenty of time and so much to still experience her Senior year, but it seems so overwhelming and I don't know how much help I will be to her, especially the recommendations.
I am a planner by nature, so until I can wrap my head around all of the things she is going to have to do to get ready for college and Rush, I'm probably going to drive myself crazy! I may need one of those drinks pictured at the beginning of this thread!
Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

Future PNM mom, there is a great book called " Rush Right" from suresister.com, it has some GREAT information in it.
Best wishes

First thing I would do is to contact my friends who had daughters who went through this year. Ask the moms and then the daughters what they thought they did right, and what would they have changed.
And then.......pushy mom that I am I would see if the new pledges would talk to my daughter about Bama, sororities and all things fashion. Go to lunch or shopping. Let them get to know your daughter.
And then, since I have read the SEC recruitment threads: line up those recs now.
