I just bought a t-shirt @ TJMAXX that says "I *heart* My Public Library". Because I really REALLY do.
I prefer B&N solely because they are closer and bigger than Borders. Also, there is a BAM near the closest Borders and they're putting in another BAM in that same mall where the BAM already is but that's too far.

OOOHHHHH... Abebooks! I like Al libris, too, but they sometimes drive me crazy with their daily ads.
I just counted the number of bookcases (full size) in my mother's house: 26 - about half are genealogical in nature. I used to say she had the most genealogical books of any non-Mormon who ever lived.
In my house, I only have 13 - but that will increase quickly, when I get the books I want from my mother's house there.
I mentioned a headboard I'm designing. It centers around this:
I have the bed platform (with storage drawers underneath), I just need a wedge type storage part between the shelves & the mattress, and a proper "box" under the shelves to make sure nobody's killed in the middle of the night by a falling bookcase and volumes like Further Undertakings of a Dead Relative Collector. Thank you, Daddy, for making sure I knew how to use power tools!

Well, some folks beat me to it and explained about Jerry World. Yes, that has screwed up all traffic in Arlington.

I definitely prefer Borders. I like a free membership and free coupons. I have shopped at B&N only twice in the last ten years, and that was when I needed a book right away that was not available at Borders. Since Borders usually ships for free if it's not available in the store, I will wait if I can.

I think Jim and Tammy's Heritage USA is still sitting there open. Let's do it!!
All the ride operators would either be "close talkers" or "high talkers."
You must be as tall as Mickey's head to ride.

I loved Borders from the time I got my first rewards card @ 16. Borders in my hometown shut down. The last 2 cities I've lived in have only had B&N. B&N started to get my business when I bought a Nook in February.

This. And, to boot, they have no souls.
I support libraries in general, but my public library is tragically inadequate, so...

I feel that way about the Borders in the Friendship Heights section of DC. All of their employees seem to love books or music and are very, very knowledgeable. And friendly. One of them talks to me when I see her and I found out she was like a medic in the military. They are an eclectic bunch.

BOO on Borders for changing the Rewards Card system.
But YAY for me because I saved $66.25 last Friday!
33% one item coupon (a blu-ray)
40% a DVD
somehow I saved money on another blu-ray (is it because I am Borders Rewards Plus now?)
10 percent off the total sale because I had a personal shopping day
AND
ten MORE percent off because I am Borders Rewards Plus.
I am going to save this receipt forever.
