My Fair Wedding
I looked to see if this had been posted but I didn't see anything...
I love WEtv on Sundays for WE go Bridal....I was just wondering if anyone else has watched this new show with David Tutera....
I love the last show where he transforms a wedding reception into a Queen Victoria theme....with a walking dessert table....

That one I didn't see. I do love the one with the Marilyn Monroe impersonator. He took some really crappy ideas and turned them into a classy affair.

Bump!
I love this show! Actually I love any show about weddings: Whose Wedding is it Anyways?, Bridezillas, Platinum Weddings...etc.
David Tutera is amazingly talented..I like the Marilyn Monroe episode (her name was Mandy..so cute!) and the one with the South Beach theme...that girl needed some serious help with her day!!!

Does anyone other than me still watch this show?
This girl on My Fair Wedding may be out of her mind about some things, but I think I am with her on the "no bridesmaids" issue.
And I <3 David Tutera.

Me too. My friend recently got married in Turks and Caicos and had ONE attendant. There were no trips to like 3 bridal stores, coordinating fittings, debates over shoes/dresses/etc. She went to Dillards and chose a blue dress and jewelry that she liked. Bride said it was cute. The end.
My friend's sister has a large family and as such she somehow ended up with 10 bridemaids and 2 junior bridemaids (cousins). Too many.
I am also very anti-flowergirl and ringbearer (because I have NEVER seen a kid actually do it well and without crying), but that's a whole other thread. lol.

I catch it every now and then in re-runs. I've gotten annoyed with Mr. Tutera. I agree he is VERY good at what he does however what annoys me to no end is his attitude that weddings have to be a certain way or fit within the "social rules". Weddings can be whatever you want. Just because everyone else doesn't like what you do, doesn't mean you can't be happy with how you choose to celebrate. I remember one of his tv brides didn't want a cake and he practically had a cow. When I get married, I'm going to city hall and although I REALLY REALLY don't want one, we will have a reception. Since Mr. Ninjapoodle used to work in the hotel industry, we have an "in" to a decent location. We're not having a "wedding reception" just a party. When I had discussed this idea with one of my best friends, she flipped out. "OMG! You HAVE to ....blah, blah" I cut her off and said "No, I don't HAVE to do anything. It's OUR day and we've chosen to do it this way. I don't want bridesmaids, a church, long dress, or any of that crap. Just be my friend & show your ass up to the reception and that will be your gift to me and Mr. Ninjapoodle." End of story. (*end rant*)

I guess my point in saying that is Tutera has a way of making situations seem like they are not good enough. Just let folks be happy with their choices.

He not only thinks weddings need to be one way, he thinks they need to be the New York way. If there's one thing I've learned from The Knot it's that New York/New Jersey weddings are very different from west coast weddings. Some of the things blown out in NY/NJ aren't even really done here. It works for him because all of the weddings on this show are in NY/NJ.
In general I tend to agree with a lot of David's decisions, but I'd get pissed if he insisted, for instance, that bridesmaid dresses should be long, cocktail hours need to have carving stations and buffets, and a wine/beer reception is unacceptable.

His last two episodes were done in Texas. So that is different.
I guess what I find annoying, is while yes the brides have really, really bad themes, dresses, favors, table settings, etc..., not everyone can afford a 100K affair. That is what David does. I can't afford that! Most people can't. I know that he gets probably a lot of freebies for the show and plugging of the names, but still.
