Interesting wedding locations

Couldn't find an appropriate thread to post this in, so feel free to share other interesting sites here.

Yesterday, when I got home from a wedding shower, my mom told me that her friend had called. The friend had been with her kids in the McDonald's of the Super Wal-Mart. They heard an announcement:

Attention, Wal-Mart shoppers. The Garden Center will be closed from 11:00 - 1:00 today for a wedding.

Kinda brings new meaning to "walking down the aisle"!

A friend got married at a lighthouse and had the reception at a Whaling Museum. Imagine what happened when you have a slew of TKE brothers and their wives dancing to Love Shack under a very large whale's skeleton!

How is that a small world? At least where I'm from the vast majority of men in fraternities will marry women in sororities.

At least you tried to find the silver lining.

I was hoping that was just the reception or they were waiting for the limo for the real reception. Yeah...no.

where i grew up in new york, the small downtown area of a town is known as the "village". in the village area of my town, there is a burger king. two employees met there and later got married in the restaurant's dining room during the lunch hour. they didn't even close down the dining room for the ceremony. the local paper covered it and had pictures. so romantic....and trashy.

one of my good college friends got married by the Angel Oak near Charleston. it was a really pretty ceremony.

A couple weeks ago, I was walking with a friend in Valley Forge National Historical Park. There was a photographer taking pictures of a bride, groom, three bridesmaids, and three groomsmen. There was a limo nearby but I didn't see anyone else. So perhaps they had the ceremony somewhere nearby and stopped at the arch in the park to take pictures.

Several years ago, while walking past St Pats in NYC, saw a full Military wedding. The couple walked down the stairs under a canopy of drawn swords.

My wedding is at the Zoo, not as "interesting" as the white castle wedding, but I like to think it's unique.

I got married at the Zoo in Colorado Springs 25 years ago this August. It was amazing to look over the city from high on Cheyenne Mountain. PM me which zoo.

I love seeing weddings there!

My dad has a friend who was married at the train station. She & her husband met commuting to NYC from Long Island everyday. Some of the stations are pretty generic concrete buildings but this one was very cute, looked just like a house!

Well the thread is "Interesting wedding locations", so maybe St. Patrick's Cathedral is an interesting wedding location because it's a beautiful, interesting, historic church.

I interpreted Jon's comment as how interesting it looked to see a bride and groom walk under a Sabre Arch with 6 military officers in dress uniforms forming a sword arch over the couple as they come out of the historic church. The last one swats her on the rear and says "welcome to the Army (or whatever branch of service) Ma'am". The Arch makes for beautiful photos.
