Question DG's as Rho Chi's

Hey ladies, I was just wondering if anyone out there has been a Rho Chi? I'm really interested in doing it for Fall 2002 recriutement, but I want to know what other girls thought of it. Was it hard to disaffiliate? What type of training do you have to go through? Would anyone reccommend it? I'm seriously considering applying so if anyone has any major issues that would stray me from the idea, let me know. Thanks.

I was! It was probably one of my favorite memories from being in the Greek system. I strongly recommend it, especially if your sorority doesn't have a lot of relationships with other sorority members. I came from a large Greek system where it was tough enough to get to know your everyone in your own pledge sisters, much less other girls in sororities. Being a Rho Chi you have meetings the semester before rush, spend all of work week together (we stayed in a hotel), and really bond with all the girls during this time. And because you're not supposed to affiliate with your chapter at all, the other Rho Chis are really your only social outlet. I made some great friends when I was a Rho Chi that I may have never had the opportunity to get to know otherwise!

Also, it is incredibly rewarding to be involved so strongly in the lives of all the rushees. For the most part, they look up to you and genuinely value your help and advice. In a way, it's like you're their surrogate mother to guide them through the entire rush process. I still remember the look of happiness on the girls' faces that pledged DG in my group when they found out I was a Delta Gamma too

Let me know if you have any other questions, but if you ask me, you should definitely go for it!

Thanks a bunch for the info. I turned in my Rho Chi application this past Tuesday so I should be getting an interview after spring break (my spring break starts this week). I'm looking forward to it. I hope I get chosen, I think the odds are pretty good. I'll keep posting to let everyone know if I got the position.
