LOL- i feel for you deadbear. it is agonizing to have to wait and be at the mercy of the pnm!! i think that it is just that they are so tired and overwhelmed, but it is still hard on us.
i hope that niece gets invited back to all her favorites !

Thankfully my niece FINALLY decided to get back to me!! She didn't tell me how she ranked last round, but I at least got some info. from her. I wish she'd be more detailed in the emails she sends, but I can't tell her I want the info. not just for me but my GC friends--she'd freak out!
A full invite list from this round was 6; but DBN only got asked back to 3 houses. Apparently, 3 or 4 is actually quite normal for girls to get and DBN didn't seem to be too disappointed. If she was, she didn't let on when she told me.
She was invited back to CASE WESTERN, WASH U, and BRANDEIS.
I didn't get much info. out of her other than the fact that she enjoyed all 3 houses today. Despite the experience she had at CASE WESTERN last time, I think this round they seemed to improve in her eyes.
I haven't gotten a chance to ask her how she felt about not being asked back to U of CHICAGO where she had friends. I felt like that wasn't something I wanted to bring up at this point.
I'm fairly certain that PNMs can attend a maximum of 4 next round (which is on Monday). Let's just hope DBN still has these 3 next round. She finds out tomorrow where to go on Monday. *Fingers crossed*

LOL. I hardly heard from 3 of mine until rush was over and then there was our oldest--who lit out for her new sorority house and didn't call for several hours. Arghhh!
And here are the moms and others who care hoping they're having a good time and worrying that their hearts are getting broken.

Latest update...
DBN has only been invited back to CASE WESTERN for this upcoming round (that is tomorrow). I think she's a little bummed. However, she had a great attitude about it. She told me that she was excited to go tomorrow and see if it's really the sorority for her--as long as they were asking her back she wanted to give them a chance too. She thinks the girls are nice, but I think she's still figuring out if she's meant to be a sorority girl.
As the good Aunt I am, I told her to go out and enjoy herself. I also encouraged her to keep going back to CASE WESTERN as long as they invited her back. As we all know, Prefs can really seal it for folks.
You'll have the next update when I get one.

As a U. of Rochester Alum, I was really hoping we'd still be in the running. Best of luck with Case Western Reserve!!!!!! I hope it's her dream house!!

Well...DBN went to CASE WESTERN for their philanthropy round, but decided after the party to drop out of recruitment . While she thought the girls were nice (and 'down to earth' in her words)--she just didn't see herself spending a lot of time with them and didn't quite feel the 'connection' vibe from them.
So I guess the story ends here. Thanks for the support from everyone. DBN's sister will be a freshman in college next year--who knows, maybe she'll rush!
If anyone wants to know the code, I'm happy to give it over PM.
And I can now safely say that my niece was at the University of Pennsylvania (aka UPenn). Thanks to everyone for respecting my request not to name the school on the boards (and congrats to anyone who figured it out!).

Awww . . .I'm sorry. Any chance she might go through informal? At any rate, I hope she is doing alright!

No. No chance she's doing informal. I don't know off-hand if her campus does informal; but it would be in the fall if they do--and she'll be a junior then. She's pretty much decided that sorority life is not meant to be for her. She's involved in some other campus activities and has friends who aren't Greek, so I think she'll be fine.
