Wedding Rituals

Hey Girls! I was wondering if DG had any special rituals that we do at weddings? I am getting married in February, and I wanted to incorporate DG somehow into my wedding since most of my sisters will be in attendance. Any ideas?

You could have a cream-colored rose waiting for each DG lady if you have pre-arranged seating at your reception (like, lying in her dinner plate). And of course, you can always have Dream Girl sung at your reception by you and all your sisters!

Okay, I'm going to sound super stupid, but I have never heard Dream Girl! Is is a DG song? And how does it go?

Yeah, it's a song that was written for a DG by her boyfriend (or so I was told) and now it's in the DG songbook and everything. I'll post the lyrics but obviously that won't help you out with the tune...but it is very, very pretty!

I have found my Dream Girl
She's as sweet as she can be
I have found the one I love
She's all the world to me
She wears the Golden Anchor
And the bronze, the pink, the blue
Delta Gamma, I love you
To you I will be true

College mem'ries linger
Never fade nor disappear
Anchored till eternity
With lasting love so dear
Wherever I may wander
All my thoughts will turn to thee
Delta Gamma, my Dream Girl,
The only one for me

In my chapter we do the "Something Blue" ceremony. It's soo cute! Ask your Director of Rituals to look it up in her book.

You could also display the anchor / nautical motif at your wedding.
