That's what I'm saying!!!!!

Like Kleenex says, "Let it Flow."

I guess I'm shedding tears because I WISH our kids, here in the USA would have this passion and thirst for the RIGHT kind of knowledge. After watching this, I have to go to work tomorrow to deal with reality.

I've gone through a box already (still on an emotional high from last night). It's seeing things like this that really makes one put things into perspective.

These girls are so inspiring. I'm amazed at how greatful they were to be going to this school. It makes me put everything in perspective.

I watched it, and it was great. You never realize what people go through until it's put in your face. Those children have gone through so much at such a young age. They seem practically grown. I'm glad Oprah opened up the school there to give the girls an opportunity to grow and live in a better environment. They have been exposed to so much that they are not used to. It can only get better. I felt especially sorry for the girl that stayed in the bad neighborhood. She was so scared of being a victim of rape or abuse. Also, a lot of those kids were w/o parents due to different reasons. The story about the father who shot the mom and then himself got to me. Then the girl said she wasn't mad about what happened, for God has a reason for everything. That was too touching. Their mentalities amazed me. Too much to talk about.

i wanna watch it again!!

I watched the whole thing in tears it was truly inspiring...From the 2 sisters Megan and Sade, for the girl who got up @ 4 am to catch the bus to school it was uplifting to see these bright beautiful African children want to achieve...

Then I get to watch on the news here how 2 students ambushed a teacher after school because the teacher took his iPod. The man has 2 broken vertebrae in his neck and is lucky to even be alive. the teacher is still concerned about the students (who are expelled). But why does it even have to go to that level? Why?

But there is a discussion going on to extend the school day.

That was a beautiful school, and show, those girls were very appreaciative of the opportunity... They were selling themselves (humbly)... to show that they were worth of the chance. I can't wait to see progress on the young ladies.

That's what I'm talking about. Our (America) priorities and value for education is all out of whack!! I'm happy for them. I think they will do great things for their country and girls who will follow in their footsteps.

Really, I feel like she doesn't even need to do this. However, I do understand her need to have her thoughts heard.

I know I'm posting a little late on this one...But I am very excited about what she is doing. I think that someone should have done this a very long time ago. People always want to find the negative when people try to help others. Unfortunately I have to agree with whoever said that American kids (in general) are more concerned about material things and are not focused on education. So why should she spend her money on them? We also have a lot more opportunities here in America when it comes to getting financial aid to pay for schools that I don't think they have there, or they may not have access to. I applaud everything she has done to make those girls feel like true human beings...Heck...I wish I could go to the school! Did you see those lounge areas?

I cried throughout the whole show. Those girls have the most beautful smiles I have ever seen. It also showed me that I need to smile IN SPITE OF...They have gone through so much, but can still smile and have aspirations. Unbelievable.

I agree with you. If I was Oprah, I would not defend a thing. Her work in Africa should be applauded and encouraged - not criticized.

Go Oprah!
