You may feel the need to defend your "dawg" Soror, and that's fine. But it doesn't change my view one iota. (no pun intended). I understand that they may be a number of perpetrators in this forum. I know the people THINK the internet is anonmyous and that they can falsely claim and organization as their own, but the problem I have is you can't base that on something as TRIVIAL, as not knowing what "OWT means.

And its still in poor taste to make that assumption on a message board after one post. I agree, if Doggy Style felt the need to "challenge" her, a PM would have surficed. But it STILL doesn't change the fact that someone in another organization cannot TRULY know whether someone is or isn't a Delta. ONLY our Sorors can KNOW that for certain. (and visa versa)

Yes, you can ask questions and investigate. You can always ASSUME, but I'm simply saying that jumping to conclusions on an admitted neophyte is being hasty at best, especially on a forum like this.

Now, I realize that every forum has its culture, and it seems that this one embraces the "Coleman Love" concept more or less. But, it is overstepping your bounds to make assumptions about others in another org based on minimal contact. This is much different than what you described (ie questioning, and follow-up notice to members of that particular org)

I'll just agree to disagree and leave it at that. I look forward to more lively debate with my Sorors and fellow greeks in the forum, (including Doggy Style).

And for the record, I'm not "jumping" on DoggyStyle, I'm just sharing my opinion as he shared his....I have no "beef" with him or anyone else

I will take your admonishment in the spirit in which it was given and I admire you for defending your sorority. Really, that is all that I was doing. I would never deem myself worthy or bold enough to challenge any woman's membership in Delta. I was not "challenging" her as any real Delta would have a right to do privately and discretely.

Again, there are many red flags about her post that I could not ignore. To me they are blatant and evident. If you would like to know how I discerned that the poster was "questionable" feel free to private message me. I won't reveal how publicly (no need to make the perps even more devious).

If I overstepped my bounds, I am sorry, but as the moderator of this forum I expect more from Bruhs and Sorors, so I practice vigilance. I welcome any posters of any persuasion and will entertain most questions. No, "owt" is not some "secret" term that needs to be guarded and it is not a big deal to discuss, nor is it a litmus test on whether you abide by any unofficial Coleman Love relationship. I know older Deltas may not be familiar with the term as won't many who came thru Alumnae, so I took that into consideration

For those of you who feel that I violated your Soror (other than her tag name, is there anything that identifies her as a member of DST?), I hope that she has since accepted prior invitations to make herself known you to either in your forum or via email and I will apologize. I would not want your vigorous defense of her to be wasted.

if I recall the disscussion wasn't about the discretion of the term "OUT" , that's nothing to be secret about. What the focus was about using some discretion about arguing with each other.... if i recall....

Actually, my comments about discretion were in reference to a post from 'champion' which said:

"...i don't think she should have asked "what does owt mean" on the net for non greeks like myself to see. D is the Key."

...which is why I commented that there is no need for discretion when discussing the term "owt" (or "out", however you choose to spell it), because it's not a "greek secret", as 'champion' seemed to suggest.

First and foremost I want to thank all of my Sorors who supported me. My ID is DST1345623 because my numbers 1,3, my front and my back and my number 23 questioned the term “OWT” while in my room. But Ill take total blame; I don’t mind.

I admit it was poor taste and judgment on my part to post my question on the message board, but I did. It was not my intention to create such a heated discussion or to disrespect my beloved brothers. I apologize. As DoggyStyle suggested I asked one of brothers about “Owt” and he willingly discussed everything with me.

If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns feel free to e-mail me. I have already received a few and I welcome more. Thanks.
