Bobby
Usually, I like seeing an ensemble cast of stars all in one movie. My favorites include "The Departed" and "Crash". With "Bobby", I thought it was cool that so many notable actors were in this film, at first. But now, everytime I see the preview, I see so many different actors, I feel like this movie is just one big head trip. I still want to see it though.
The cast includes:
Anthony Hopkins
Demi Moore
Sharon Stone
Lindsay Lohan
Elijah Wood
Helen Hunt
William H. Macy
Christian Slater
Laurence Fishbourne
Freddy Rodriguez
Nick Cannon
Emilio Estevez
Shia LaBeouf
Joshua Jackson
James Marsden
Martin Sheen
Heather Graham
Harry Belafonte
Ashton Kutcher
And that is not even the whole cast that gets credited in this movie. Side note- I never thought I would live to see the day that Nick Cannon is in the same movie as Martin Sheen and Anthony Hopkins.
Still looks like a good movie though! I see this movie winning major awards for ensemble cast.

I thought this was going to be a thread about BobbyTheDon, LOL.
It'll be interesting to see Helen Hunt after she's been hiding all these years.

I love Emilio and Martin. Watching them on Oprah was pretty cool and I was amazed at how passionate he was about writing this movie. Was Bobby Kennedy that influential of a man? I don't know much about him.

He was appointed attorney general after JFK became president. He then went after the mob bigtime (not a smart move considering that the mob was the reason for his family's money, and it may have been this reason that got JFK assassinated). Later he ran for president but was assassinated in 1968 after winning the California primary.
Also he was better looking than JFK. This has been your short US History lesson for the day.

He was also heavily involved in the Civil Rights movement, (on behalf of JFK and as Attorney General) working with Dr. King and many of the other leaders of that era.
There was a piece on CBS Sunday Morning about the movie this morning. I was amazed to know that the original budget for this movie (although they went over it some) was only $5.5 Million, and that all of the actors worked for Hollywood (SAG?) minimums.
On the day he died, I recall running into to the now Mrs. DA on campus and her telling me it had happened (I hadn't heard).
What a hard time to be young and idealistic with the JFK, Martin Luther King, RFK murders and then Kent State a few months later.

I had a chance to stand at his grave and JFK's on Saturday. I remember Bobby's death, but was too young too remember JFK's. (John Jr. and I are the same age, or would be.)
I've been to the graves before but as always it was very moving. It's so hard to try to convey to my kids the significance of the site.
But hey -- after we left the Kennedy graves, we arrived at the cemetery gate just in time to see the President ride by. Talk about stories they can tell at school.
