Coat of Arms image needed
Does anyone have or know where I can get a copy of the LCA coat of arms in a high resolution image. I'm working on a project that requires some close in detail and I can't seem to find one.
Thanks for any help.

I have this but not to sure about it! http://www.greekhouseoffonts.com/index.php

Does anyone else have any ideas on this? The ones on nationals website is kinda ugly and not what I usually give tribute to as our coat of arms. Look's like my little cousin colored it in with magic marker.
Thanks in ZAX,
John

There is actually a company on the web who customizes in graphics. They sell things like the Vinyl Stick on Letters, and there is place where you can create your own poster by sending them a picture of it. I believe they sell up to a 7 foot high poster. If anyone is interested just let me know, although I am gonna have to search again for the link.

Thats basically what I'm trying to do. Our original coat of Arms was stolen from our house years before my time, and a very nice canvas one we have is very old and has a few tears. By no means is it in condition to hang up for presentation. I just went to kinko's and those rat bastards tried to charge me $150 for a sign no larger than 2 feet, length and width. $7/sq ft.
I would a NICE high res image of the coat of arms. The more you blow up smaller images, obviously the worse they look. I suppose I could bite the bullet and color it in myself from that nice high-res black and white image they have up there.

Here's what you need to do:
Get a copy of Form 25. Scan it into your computer, but first, set the resolution to some ridiculously high number like 2400 dpi. Then, you can put it into Photoshop and (here's the key) as you increase the dimensions, you lower the dpi.
Change it from 5"x7" (or whatever) at 2400 dpi to 18"x 24" at 300 dpi.
That way, you won't lose quality as you enlarge.
Also, I'm not sure if Form 25 still features that stupid-looking pink color instead of purple, but if I were you, I'd replace that, too.

Right now I am coloring in the black high res tiff from hq's website. I will post later if I am satisfied with the outcome. Mark, I will try it your way if I give up to aggravation.
Thanks,
John

Fortunately I could not fall asleep this morning so I went back to work on some of my side projects. After catching up on some very old Cross and crescent articles, I stumbled upon the LCA flickr album and started browsing their coat of arm's images. The tag Mike Mahoney popped up with a picture titled Coat of Arms prototype. Quick search of google led me to this:

The minutes of the LXA Graphics committee.
http://pdf.crossandcrescent.com/graphics/mahoney/
This is a direct link to the amazing images these artists have done on our "new" coat of arms. I feel I should point out that these were all created in vector, which for any computer graphics literate people is a lossless format. Meaning the illustrator files can be stretched to any size without losing quality.
I should probably note that these all are still prototypes, but all are coat of arms none the less. I cant decide which one I like more. Jeff Reisdorfer's 4th gen COA looks very nice IMO. I think its the white letters. Very Sharp.
Thanks for all that helped. I need to stay up late more often to get things done.

John Dever

Apparently someone noticed that they were posted here I guess... Luckily I saved most of them.
