Hey ThetaSis -- the Chi Omega Convention was at the same hotel in San Antonio 2 years ago. I didn't have too much free time, but was able to walk to the Alamo one evening & the River Walk is right outside the hotel -- so that's fun.

*bump*

The Alpha Gams are getting ready to head for Indian Wells for Convention! Several of us leave tomorrow morning and the rest are heading in Thursday, when the festivities officially begin.

We'll see you all when we return!

Dee

If you will be there, look for my oldest sister, Cele. She's an alum from USC and lives in Atlanta. On GreekChat, she is GPhiBLtColonel.

I will be at the Theta Convention that same week.

Our Grand Convention was one of the best times of my life! I had such an amazing time and met so many awesome Thetas. I can only imagine this is the feeling other sorority/women's fraternity members feel.

I highly recommend attending your group's Convention. You will never forget it.

Also, the San Antonio Riverwalk Marriott was a great hotel! The one & only negative...so many conventions meant it was a long wait for an elevator!

That is where ours is in 2008! How hot was it? (After Palm Springs.. 112-117 every day, I'm already re-thinking my "Convention wardrobe") Thinking sleeveless and cotton everything for San Antonio... I want to hear all about that hotel!

We have had the elevator issue at every Convention I've been to, especially just prior to banquets, when we are all heading down at once.

I'm going to Zeta's Convention in The Woodlands (by Houston) tomorrow! The hotel is supposed to be beautiful and it is on a waterway. This will be my 5th one. Should be fun!

The hotel was great...I LOVED the beds. So soft and comfy, but in hindsight they might have been too soft...my back was a bit sore afterwards, but that could be due to uncomfortable airplane seats.

Being in the hotel most of the time meant the temperature was fine. I tend to feel warm vs. cold and most women complained about it being too chilly inside. I tended to wear dressy capri pants & light sweater sets.

We did go out in the middle of the day once and then in the evenings. I would suggest tank tops, wide brimmed hats, and your swimsuit since the hotel has nice outdoor & indoor pools. I don't know the exact temperature, but it was HOT during the day. I was dripping when we went to the Alamo because the front has very little shade, but it was nice & cool inside. At night, it was warm, but very tolerable. Just leave the wool at home!
