I almost didn't look at this thread because I thought it was about the purple dinosaur!
Don Knotts was one of a kind -- a true classic.

I am very sad to hear about this news. it seems like we're loosing a lot of the greats the last few months.

Me, too!
I hear that he always liked his role as Barney Fife the best - I simply cannot imagine anyone else playing it. I hope he gets to have that bullet now.
