Any martial artists?

Does anyone else practice martial arts? I've been taking jujitsu (judo) this fall.

I've always been fascinated by Muay Thai and was hoping to start sometime soon.

I got into MMA about a year ago when I started taking boxing and kickboxing classes at my gym, HMA Kickboxing. Since then I've met a bunch of ultimate fighters (namely, the Gracies) and even went on a few 'dates' with Mayhem.

Judo and Karate as a teenager. Learned enough to say, "So sorry," and walk the other way. Quickly. Some people are armed.

There's a very old humor bit by Bill Cosby about the guy who had just won his Black Belt in whatever...He said he knew how to break a brick and break a stick and was feeling pretty tough.

So, a guy with a gun comes up and says, "Give me your wallet."

"So I broke a brick, then broke a stick and then I gave him my wallet."

You gotta know which battles to fight.

You might try BJJ, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu also known as Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. It dominated the Ultimate Fighting Championship in the early days.

Another excellent art is from Israel called Krav Maga. That is the hand-to-hand part. In its' complete form it is Kapap-Lotar. It is not your traditional martial art. It is a close quarters fighting technique resulting in the death of your opponent. It was developed by the Israeli special forces during the formation of Israel and includes hand-to-hand techniques, clubs, knives, and shooting all in one art form. A friend of mine is an instructor. Highly suited to law enforcement and military personel though law enforcement employs a more restricted form due to the limitations on the implementation of letal force.

My parents had that on LP. You forgot the part where he was trying to break things with his hands and shattered his hand and nowadays he only breaks things like jello, etc.
