Never thought I'd see the day...
I just spent $54.13 to fill up my car and I wasn't even close to being on empty. They cut work short this afternoon so that we could leave and go fill up on gas. Why? Because they are going to be shutting down the pumps (according to the what we were told at work). All of this is due to hurricane Katrina...and I live in Georgia. Gas is ranging from $2.98 to well over $3.00. One station has already run out of gas and the lines were backed up everywhere else.

All of the gas stations here in Atlanta are running out of gas. The news is telling everyone to get gas by tonite. It's a madhouse here. Lines are all the way down the street to get in the gas stations and most stations, gas prices are starting at $4.00/gal.

I was listening to Ryan Cameron on V103. Why is Shell making beaucoups dollars off of people??? Why is there one station charging $5.59 ? Why was the price being changed again as the $5.59 was being reported?
Thank God I have more than 3/4 of a tank. No unneccessary trips for the kid! According to Ryan Cameron, Gov. Perdue said gas availability should stabilize by this weekend. I will most definitely wait it out.

I saw a gas station here that has gas for $3.00 for regular!! That's a lot for SC because we have some of the cheapest gas in the nation.

$3.09 here in Columbus (I literally had to rub my eyes when I saw that).
Thankfully, I got my gas yesterday ($2.62) and filled it until I could fill it no more. Cost: $23.50 and I drive a Civic. Oh, how I yearn for the days when I could do the above for $9.80.

It took me twice as long to get home tonight because EVERY STATION had cars spilling out into the street. The best ones I saw were still $2.89/ gallon but I have close to 3/4 of a tank still.
I called my mom on the way home. Gas in Cleveland is 3.26 unleaded.

FOOLISHNESS!!
I can't believe this mess! I'm reading this and I can't help but ask myself how we got into this situation. The only answer I can come up with is all this has happened since bush took office. 9/11, Uneccesary war, gas prices, and the list goes on.... Did america not put itself here though..... Everyone who voted for bush should really be questioning their logic for that decision right about now...

I went to the mall at like 6:30 today and the gas was $2.99 a gallon. When I was leaving the mall at 8 ish, the same station had gas from $3.09. It went up $.10 in a little over an hour and a half. It was just like $2.59 on Monday.

The gas supply in Georgia would have (will be) been restored by this weekend. People panicked, gas stations gouged. Gov. Perdue is charging a fine for every gas station that is gouging the prices.
