Need to know how to do something...

I need a computer savey AGD to help me (or a non-AGD). The past two years I have been using Publisher to produce the Alumnae Newsletter... the problem is that we are starting to send the newsletter via email and not everyone has publisher.

I have been thinking that producing it with Adobe and making it a PDF would be great... only thing is that I don't know how to do this. Could anyone out there help me? I either want to figure out how to make it a PDF or have someone give suggestions of other ways to make the newsletter more electronicly assessible.

I would love to do what Hawaii Alumnae Chapter did a few years ago. Maybe one of the island sisters could tell me who did that so that I can get in contact with them????

If you haven't already, install Adobe Acrobat (not Acrobat Reader) onto your computer.

Once it's installed, you should be able to open your document, go to File - Print, and select the printer to Adobe PDF. Hit "OK" and it should prompt you to save the new file as a .pdf Hope that helps!

Adobe also has an online "make a Pdf" feature although I haven't tried it out yet. It's at www.adobe.com

Our alumnae newsletter used to be made in Publisher and then converted to PDF for electronic disbursement.

Don't you have to pay for the "Writer" though? I thought just the "reader" was free. I think it's expensive, but I could be wrong.

Okay, I'm going to see if this works. The writer online is free for 5 times and then you have to start paying less then $10.00 a month or year to convert files online. That isn't bad since I already have the publisher program.

Now is there a way to attach the file to here?
